Batting Practice "Scrimmage"

"My favorite drill is scrimmaging in order to get our batting practice. We get everything done at once and we have a way where we take the four or five players left over after putting everybody on the field when they hit. Then they get to go around three times. Then we plug them into the field and bring five more on. Then they get to hit. So we're working on defense. We're working on hitting. And they get away from the boredom of practice. So I really like this scrimmage."

I ran this drill this past Saturday at practice. It kept the team moving along and it also gave the ladies a chance to think as to where the next play was. I ran it in situations so they knew where to throw the ball with a runner on second and no outs.
