Spring football 1 reply

I am a middle school football coach in north carolina . I had this idea of presenting a proposal of starting a spring football league for middle school aged players. Do any of you coach think this is a wise? Do you think it would be worth the time? I know plenty of kids who don't play baseball and would benefit from this both as a player and has a positive outlet. If so what are things that I could do to get the ball rolling on this?

I think this has merit.  Here in Texas we have only spring ball for the largest group of high schools-5A.  All other have no spring training.  The reason is many think in smaller schools spring sports would hurt by not having enough participate.  Also, they use the excuse it takes away from study time.  We all know if you require good grades to play you will probably get good grades.

I would submit, the worse thing that could happen is you get turned down.  Please keep us posted as to outcome.

Good luck.
