5-Step Drop
By: Manning Passing Academy
In this youth football drill, NY Giants Quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, teaches high school quarterbacks the proper way to take a 5-step drop. On longer passing plays and routes, quarterbacks use a 5-step drop in order to see the field and let the routes fully develop to make the best possible throw.
To motivate your players, take a page out of Eli's book, and mandate 10 push-ups if a player drops the ball.
