Pass Blocking on the Line

By: PlaySportsTV Football about 4 years ago

Pass blocking is important for protecting the quarterback. Start from either a 2-point or a 3-point stance, relaxed with a straight back. When the ball is snapped, begin to retreat, move your feet, extend your arms and steer the defender away from the action. Do your best to keep the defender in front of you.

The only reason you want your offensive linemen to keep retreating is to teach them how to stay balanced when being pushed backwards. It's better for the OLine to hold the defender up, elbows tight, hands inside at all times. Try not to be pushed into QB
