At the bottom of the swing make sure your fingers are at 6 o'clockand middle of your palm straight toward your target. Work on not letting the wrist begin turning until the thumb starts to come out. Allow the hand to follow through in the most comfortable position (preferably all the way past your head as if your trying to pat yourself on the back - watch the young women professionals if you get the chance on ESPN).This should happen naturally with not much thought if your timing is right. Timing is of the essence in determining what your wrist wants to do. The best thing is to find a bronze or silver level coach to work with you for an hour or so to make sure your timing is correct. It's just important to let your thumb begin to come out of the ball before you let your wrist start to turn. (I was having some issues with the same problem and a local PBA Pro gave me this instruction).
