Beginners Shooting Drills
By: Magic Johnson Presents...
This detailed drill explores the fundamentals of shooting for the most novice players. When shooting, follow through is one of the most important parts of making baskets. The elbow should be locked straight out with your hand and fingers pointed down. To practice this, put the basketball in one hand, raised over the shoulder. Teach young players to hold their L position pose, using their legs for power, rather than throwing the basketball. A number of simple but effective drills are demonstrated in this basketball drill.

Nice teaching video...his explanation is easy for young children to understand. I will incorporate this lesson in my next practice plan.
being a cpt, and cscs, i appreciate coaches that understand and talk about muscle memorie and how it effects performance. as a high school coach, i still use these basics.
