    Dennis Hensley asked:

my son has starte to straighten his back during is swing, just befor contact. How can I get him to stay leaning over the plate?

    Coach’s answer:

Sounds like way to much movement, every time the head moves the ball moves visually, straighting up changes the plane of the bat (high swing), but I don't understand how he can open up and close at the same time and get his lead foot planted. Can you e... Continue Reading »

    Coach’s answer:

    Ken Bergren asked:

    Mineral Oil for Gloves?

    Coach’s answer:

Most glove oils use lanolin as the base product in the oil, lanolin is a by product of wool. It's cheaper to buy straight lanolin then glove oils. But don't over do it 2-3 times a year is about right. Hope this helps

    Will asked:

i am 11 and my arm is hurting really bad after i pitch and i might have dislocated it any ideas on how 2 help

    Coach’s answer:

Put ice on it and see a doctor, you never want to mess with the health of your arm, your only 11 and have many years ahead of you. The next question is how much are you throwing (pitches not innings) and have you ever been to a respected pitching coach... Continue Reading »

Does anyone know of a grant program or a willing sponsor for infield dirt to start a softball field?

    Coach’s answer:

Grants are a long process and it's a difficult time to get them and infield mix is expensive. What I did was go to the local highway dept. and told them what I needed, they had all the dirt I needed in a few weeks, for the infield we had some fundrais... Continue Reading »
