Youth football question ... what are some good drills to teach offensive linemen to fire off the ball?

    Toby’s answer:

there are tons but whatever you do use smaller faster defensive linemen to challange them they certianly wont like being beat by the smaller guy's and will begin to give more in the drills also have them pull and trap it will take more effort and there... Continue reading »

    Mario Galvan asked:

my QB is afraid 2 cut 2 the inside he is fast

    Toby’s answer:

good advice greg. I'll only add have him thank the line after each block he gets as he repeats this he will enjoy the role of being a leader and not only will he have a impact on there game he will begin to trust the offense to be with him.

    Michael Wysocki asked:

When do you allow a child to begin playing tackle football so that they're not too young but also don't get too far behind?

    Toby’s answer:

It's all in the kid there are 6yr old's doing fine yet on average I would say 8 tends to be when whining is the exception and not the rule. since you started him out in flag, "not an option where I live," I would say he isn't going to have to worry abo... Continue reading »

    Toby’s answer:

the technique has a bad reputation as seen but is in many ways safer. yet less effective it does have a place for defensive linemen and linebackers while stacking the hole, ask that he learns when to do what.
