    Knox’s answer:

Talking about nature. This player might be more offensive minded, a thinker. I'm defensive myself. You need to be able to think on both sides. Defense is more react and attack. Offense is more elude and strike. Being a direct part of the scoring proces... Continue reading »

    Knox’s answer:

AS YOU ALREADY KNOW TIME IS THE MAIN THING YOU WILL NEED. TWO MORE THINGS YOU COULD TRY... 1. A LOT OF FUNDAMENTAL BLOCKING AND TACKLING ON THE DUMMY. (Step by Step to it becomes a reflex) 2. TAKE TIME TO MAKE SURE TO END AS MANY SITUATIONS AS POSSIBL... Continue reading »

    football drafting at rec center

    Knox’s answer:

It depends on the player's desire and nature abilities. If it's a good program they will put 100% effort to teaching your child the game. Reason being the players change every year. Next year the newbies will be the heart of the team.

    Penny Richardson asked:

How do I help my son overcome his fear of tackling/being tackled?

    Knox’s answer:

Get a tackling dummy so you can practice at home in comfortable surroundings. I will assume by valid you mean that he was push into hitting and tackling before he knew how to properly do so. This is not something you want a non/less aggressive player t... Continue reading »

    1. OK- I tried this and my kid can hit the filling out of the dummy...because the dummy can't move and run into him... when a player comes at him he freezes or flinches... its irrational because he is covered from head to toe (really) in pads... his father is annoyed with him because he gets embarrassed at it and wants to just let son give up...kid says he wants to play... how to get thru this problem so he can enjoy the game?
      Momma Duck · August 26, 2010
    2. You can move the dummy just don't hold it use it. Hit him with it a little at a time if he comes at it wrong the dummy can be tricky. Let dad or someone stand behind the dummy and give a little force or pop here and there. Jr can win a couple then the ole dummy might win one. An when you have a confidence issue like this. Know it's going to take time{he's got to play} and a lot of positive encouragement even when everyones getting embarrassed. If we feel bad they {players} feel worst.

    Knox’s answer:

FACT. If you start at the beginner stage 7 & 8 in most areas you'll be playing with others who have never played before it's everybody that's 7 first time. Giving you a chance to grow with everyone. Then the next yr you'll be the senior group playing w... Continue reading »
