Well you could just show them that its more fun doing the sport than just watching it. From my own view I am always wanting to play and not wanting to be on the bench watching others play the game.

Practice, Practice, dedication, showing up, and not goofing off, but still having fun all the time.

I would proubably do nothing ever again, and just go through life staring at the field and holding a softball all the time

I was in that same spot a couple years ago, still am, but I would just have her strech after each time she is out there. Plus, I also strech when ever I got up to get the that I missed, like bending my knee higher and then take a big stride.
