My daughter, who is going to be an 8th grader, plays for a travel team I coach. Today, she hit her first homerun. What a Feeling, especially when I was coaching 3rd base. She hit a shot over the fence in left center field. The fence was 200 ft. The ball went at least 25-30 ft. beyond the fence. It takes alot for me to be emotional, but I had tears in my eyes. This is what makes me coach, special moments like this. I'm sure alot of you coaches and dads have had the same feeling. If you haven't had this feeling yet, it really is something to look forward to.
That must have been exciting!!! Since the start of my travel career, 4 years, I've hit 51 home runs. and trust me they'll just keep coming if she doesnt olet it get in her head. once you start swinging for the fence, you wont hit as well as you would like
yep my dad remembers my first homerun! he said that everytime i did hit one i would get 100 bucks! i've only done it once after that! tell your daughter i said congrats even though she doesn't know me!
Congrats to you and your daughter! I don't coach a team, but I am my daughter's pitching coach, I remember her 1st no hitter. It feels great to know that you can share so much of their lives.
