Coach Blaisdell is one of those small-town coaches who knows all the athletes and parents in his town. The Northwest, Ohio native not only knows his neighbors, but he also impressively balances coaching youth baseball and football teams (though he admits that football is his family's favorite sport).

Coach Blaisdell coaches the 7-9 year old minor league baseball team in West Unity, Ohio, as well as the Hilltop Cadets 5th and 6th grade football team. Though both are very different sports with different athletes, Coach Blaisdell says it is a privilege to watch the kids improve with each passing season. But not only is it about skill level, he also enjoys watching them grow up and how their personalities change. Check out the Cadets Football team that will begin practice on August 11th.

Coach Blaisdell has been happily married for thirteen years. Their sons are ages 8 and 13. Though he resides in Ohio, Blaisdell is an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He also enjoys fishing, camping, weight training and running with his eldest son.

Blaisdell told us in an email this week, "I just want to say thanks for naming me weplay Coach of the Week. The kids I coach deserve the credit. They make it easy. Thanks, kids!!"

Also, Blaisdell shares his favorite quote for you all to think about.

"It's easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you're a winner, when you're number one. What you have to have is faith and discipline when you're NOT a winner."
