Jeanhee Kim Luke was chatting up a cab driver last night about his native India. I'm half listening until I hear the driver say: "One of your musicians, I think John Lennon? No, George Michael, donated millions when my country was at war with Pakistan in 1971."
Jeanhee Kim OK, so right now i'm lying on the couch. But, 12 hours ago I was 5 miles into my first half marathon. Not only did I finish, but I raised a bucket of money to help my niece Sophie and CureCMD. Official details will come soon I hope, about my time and my fundraising. Running with the CureCMD team was inspiring and motivating--especially my mom, running her first-ever half marathon at the age of 71. I'm sure there will be many more CureCMD run/walks in my future. Thanks for everyone's support! My
Jeanhee Kim Less than a week before I huff and puff my way through 13.1 miles to help find a cure or treatment for my niece Sophie! If you would like to support me, please scroll to the bottom of the page to find me and donate: http://curecmd.org/events/njmarathon2011
Jeanhee Kim Scene: This morning, as Chiara and I were waiting for the elevator to leave for school. The door to our apartment opens, and little Jemma peeks her head out. "Oma, if you miss me, just give me a call, OK?"
Jeanhee Kim Chiara, whispering to Luke when he unsuccessfully asked Jemma to apologize to me for taking out my laptop, putting it on the floor, and then standing on it: Apa, sometimes Jemma doesn't understand unless you put her in a timeout.
Jeanhee Kim I ran an entire mile yesterday morning -- my first mile ever without stopping! I'm aiming to run 3 miles within the next 4-6 weeks, then I'll start training for my first half marathon as a member of Team Cure CMD
Jeanhee Kim Having kids is making me like Halloween all the more. Everything from what candy to buy, to what the kids will dress up as, to what Luke and I will dress up as, is endlessly fascinating to them. Their excitement is infectious! Chiara to Luke: You can wear orange! Luke: And go as a pumpkin? Chiara: No, an orange!
“Noah, great photos! Thanks so much! Maybe I can entice you to do a family portrait? We need one because we keep getting requests for them at the kids' schools. The last one I had is more than 1 year old and Chiara is entirely in panda face (made up to look like a panda), but with the makeup around her mouth smeared. It's a look, believe me.”

Jeanhee Kim Thanks to everyone who contributed in support of my brother and sister-in-law and their half-marathon for Cure CMD! Their goal was $50,000 and they raised $150,000! Enough to fund at least 2 studies of potential treatments/cures for CMD!
Jeanhee Kim My brother Andrew, sister-in-law Eunice and several cousins and other relatives are running the San Jose Half Marathon this weekend to raise funds to find a cure for CMD, which afflicts my sweet niece Sophie. Please contribute to help find a cure! http://curecmd.org/events/event-details?event_id=46
