Reminder to all that Saturday is Baseball Fest. It starts at 10 a.m. so please be there by 9:30 so everything starts on time. Also we are scheduled for a make up game agains D & J next week on the 11th. I am going to get up with some of the other coaches to see if we can make up some more games that we have missed this season due to rain cancellations.

I just wanted to take the time to tell the kids how proud I am of them for the great game we had last night. You guys and girls did awesome. You totally rocked! Last nights game was the best we have played all season and I so proud of how well everyone did. You showed great teamwork and Coach Butch and I even noticed a few individual improvements as well. So thanks to all of you for doing such a wonderful job. Give yourselves a great big pat on the back you deserve it!

Just a reminder that Sunday May 31st is Little League Parade Night at Camden Yards. If anyone is still interested please call ma ASAP to let me know so I can call in the ticket order this afternoon. So far we have about 10 people going and we need 12 to reserve tickets. I will be giving everyone a call this afternoon to see who is interested and to let you know whether our game for this evening is canceled due to the rain. Hi folks,
Here is some more information about Orioles Night on Sunday May 31. The Night is actually called The Orioles Little League Parade. The Orioles are having a parade for all the little leaguers that night. The kids will be walking in the parade in the "Warning Zone." The children will not under any circumstances be allowed to walk on the grass. Sorry it was my understanding that they would be so I apologize for this oversight. All players are to wear their uniforms (i.e. shirts, hats, pants, socks). I don't know about the cleats. I am thinking that the kids probably can just wear their regular tennis shoes. Should we get enough people to go that day (I need a minimum of 12 people to make the reservation) then we would to be at Camden Yards by 10:15/10:1 I am going to get the directions and other information for the train station that D & J's coach has so that we can all meet at the same place and ride the train to the stadium. There will be a home game after the parade. The Orioles are playing against the Detroit Tigers that evening. Should make for an interesting game.

Let me know if you are interested in going. Again the tickets are $8.00 per person and I need to get a head count by next Tuesday. I know I said tomorrow but I talked to the reservations officer today and she said she will be holding ticket sales open until next Wednesday. This Saturday is our Parade Day. If all goes well and we do not get any rain we will be meeting at the Hollywood Theater at 8:30 am. We will be walking from the Hollywood to the Arbutus Middle School. You can leave your car at the Middle School and walk down to the Theater or have someone drop you off. All players must be in full uniform (including cups) as we will be having our next Saturday game at 12 p.m. following the parade. If by chance we do get rain I will let everyone know when both Parade Day and that game will be rescheduled. Also for all the parents there is an Adult Only party being held June 13 at the Arbutus Town Hall (see note on comment board for time). The cost is $35 per person. If anyone still has tickets please turn those in ASAP as the drawing will be held this weekend rain or shine.

Hi all,
sorry I did not have the schedule up yesterday. Had problems with my computer. Got the kinks out now. The regular season schedule is posted on both my page and on the Arbutus Little league organizations page. As of yet no time has been set for Parade Day. Most likely it will be around 9:00 am that Saturday morning. Once the president of the league has the official time on the parade I will make sure to post it and let everyone know. Also if you were not at practice on Friday we did get some of our uniform pants and socks. Jerseys and hats won't be in until Wednesday. I will be up at the middle school Wednesday evening picking up Jerseys and hats. If you would like let me know if you would like me to pick up your child's jersey, hat, pants and socks if you did not get them. Let me know what size to get your child. You also have the optician of picking them Friday evening at practice. The size generally run small to large. Also for those of you who will be volunteering on the field you can order and adult Arbutus Little League jersey for $15. The sizes run from small to XL. Let coach Butch or myself know or if anyone goes to one of the meetings on Thursday evenings you can order one there. As always be sure to check for updates to the calendar and other announcements.

As of this moment we will still be having practice this evening. However, if it starts to rain by 3 or 4:00 this afternoon I will be calling to notify all parents of the rain cancellation. Also we do need someone to bring snack for practice this evening. I do have on box of Capri Sun juice pouches and half a box of fruit snacks leftover from last weeks practice. Thank you Miss Amy for that. So all we would need is another box of juice pouches and another box of fruit snacks. If you have not seen it on the comment portion of my page we are still having practice this afternoon/evening. I do advise that you and the children dress warmly as it is supposed to be a mere 31 degrees out this evening. I hate the cold so don't laugh if you see me dressed like Nanook of the North. I plan on being warm. We will see you all at practice. If someone would be kind enough to bring snacks and drinks to practice for the kids this evening we would appreciate it. I will be bringing the snack sign up sheet with me to practice along with the emergency contact forms this evening.

Hi all,
Wanted to let everyone that due to the expected thunder showers today's practice will be canceled. Hoping that inclimate weather does not occur we will see you all for practice next Tuesday April 7th at 6;00 p.m.

I also wanted to say thank you to all the parents who stayed to watch their kids at our first practice. To me and Coach Butch one of the most important things that you can do for your children and that is be there for your kids. At the next practice I will be bringing emergency contact forms with me along with the snack sign up form. The emergency contact form is for in case you can not either be at a practice or game or remain for a full practice or game. We need to know in the case of an emergency who is allowed to pickup and drop off your child in the event that you can not. We will need that person's phone number and we will ask for that person to show proper I.D.

We will not allow your child to leave the field unless we know for sure that they have your expressed permission to leave with that person. Also if for any reason you cannot remain for the full duration of the game or practice please let us know when we should expect your return. We had an incident on Tuesday where we had to take a child home because their parent failed to return to pick the child up from practice and failed to answer the repeated phone calls Coach Butch made to the parent.

While neither Coach Butch nor myself mind staying until you can pick your child up we cannot be responsible for transporting your child home. Not to mention that if there is an accident on the field regarding your child and we cannot get a hold of you or your emergency contact person(s) then we will have no choice but to contact the league president Jeff Smith or the Tee ball manager Scott Myer and have them handle the situation.

We want everyone to have a fun and safe season so please be courteous to us and make sure we know when to expect you to pick up your children.

Hi everyone,
Today is the start of the new tee ball season for 2009! We are all very excited as we have some of our players from last season returning along with some new ones. We are also excited because this will be the second year our oldest son Jonah will be playing, the first year our youngest son Elijah will be playing and the second year my husband and I will be coaching. We look froward to working with both our old and new players this year and can't wait for the season to begin.
