    Maurice Brown asked:

Is a 3-5-3 defense to hard for 8 and 9 year olds to learn

    Mike’s answer:

That depends on what you mean by a 3-5-3? I'll assume you plan on putting three defensive down lineman and try to allign 5 linebackers? Don't think of it as a "Defense" however put a scheme toghether. In my opinion, to many resposibilities fo... Continue reading »

    Brad Moberg asked:

Do you start practice with form running drills or stretching movements first. What do you pefer?

    Mike’s answer:

To many coaches waste so much time with drills and static stretching. Start with a mild core warm up and go directly into dynamic stretching. Leg kicks, Butt kicks, Lunges, and High knee to name a few.

    Gregory Powell asked:

Does anyone have a good parents code of conduct that you can share?

    Mike’s answer:

    Brad Moberg asked:

Football Question. Does your best athlete on the team play quaterback?

    Mike’s answer:

I would tend to agree with Jermaine, with the Single Wing you cannot go wrong however it is not called Quarterback in the Wing but Tailback which most of the time is taking a direct snap. That being said, let him compliment fellow players and try not t... Continue reading »

    Garrett Laufer asked:

My son is 8 yrs old and wants to play tackle next year instead of flag football. What is a good age to start tackle?

    Mike’s answer:

Garrett, as long as you have a coach that will teach the proper techniques required for blocking and tackling it will not matter when they start but preferably younger so they develop great work ethic and sound fundamentals.

    Mike’s answer:

Edwin, I believe they are having another sign up this weekend at the field. Although, if you are 14, it depends what your age and weight are because you may be eligible to play high school. Midget is the last age/weight group you can play for in Pop Wa... Continue reading »
