Relaxing on Game Day

Back home here in San Antonio and checking back in with all my weplay friends again. And why not? Good way to relax and chill out before the game tonight against the Kings, love playing at home and playing much better there of late. We are in a good rhythm right now.
The way the NBA is now, you need to take advantage of rest when you can get it. You might play a double OT game, then fly back in the middle of the night and play again a few hours later. You can't make excuses and have to do what you can to stay in the game. But even when you play below what you would like to, there is no time to feel sorry for yourself because there is another game to think about and prepare for.
People ask me all the time about how you stay balanced, you know, the other things going on in life away from the game of basketball. I think the answers are pretty much the same as most people would say. I watch TV and movies, play video games (especially EA NBA '09), and listen to music. It's not that crazy, I promise.
One thing I am working on though is a charity basketball game in France next summer for the French Make-A-Wish Foundation. So I guess you could say that's a goal I'm working towards right now. I am honored to be a part of such an important organization, granting wishes to brave kids who are fighting some pretty difficult medical conditions.
Of course, when it comes to basketball, there is only one goal that take up all of my time and efforts. Winning more Championships. And that means playing and practicing on holidays and sometimes being away from the people I love. Enjoy your holiday vacations with loved ones and have a happy new year to you and your families.
All the best,
