It was absolutley great!!! This is the first Championship I have ever won or been a part of... For the past 8 years I've played on all bad baseball teams and this season... turned out to be a great season.

    NOW I HAVE BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!
    D4 DEVIL RAYS!!! CHAMPIONS!!!

We lost a lot of our earlier regular season games... At first... we didn't do so well. One time we lost 10-2 and 8-1... Then we just kept winning and winning...

Our team was made up of 11 to 14 year olds, we were the only team with 11 year olds and we had 2 of them. All the teams we played had a few high school students on them. We had no one from high school on our team. So they beat us badly... Like I said... In the beginning...

In the playoffs, we HAD to win the last 3 games and we did it!!! We beat the teams who slaughtered us earlier in the season.

Before the second playoff game, we heard the other team's head coach tell his players to be at the field for warmups the next day... This meant that they thought they would automatically beat us... Because whoever lost this game... Their season ends... Done... Finished... Kaput...
WE POUNDED THEM WITH 3 RUNS IN THE FIRST INNING AND WENT ON TO BEAT THEM 7 - 1!!!
THIS WAS THE SAME TEAM THAT BEAT US EARLIER IN THE SEASON 10 - 2 AND 8 - 1!!!

    Game 1, we won 6 to 1... Game 2, 7 to 1...
And the Finals... Game 3, 8 to 7... We were ahead 8 to 2 going into the last inning and then the other team scored 5 runs... but we still won!!!
    I still can't believe it...

    MY BEST YEAR IN BASEBALL!

  3. MY SUMMER... 2008...

The best summer I ever had... so far...

This summer started slow, it rained quite a bit for much of June and I spent most of my time playing my PS3, learning to enhance photos with my Photoshop software and meeting new friends on Weplay... First, I finally figured out how to fix my PS3 system to work on line and when I did, it felt like all of my old games were new again. My favorite game on line is "Call of Duty 4", so... if you're ever on... look for me, my name is "xyran" pronounced "zy-rin" not x-y-ran.

I also learned how to enhance and edit pictures using Adobe software, so I tried to make at least one collage for each Yankee player... I know I missed a few players, but I will get to them one day... if they're still with the Yankees.

Plus, I joined Weplay... This is my first and only experience... meeting people on line... One of my first friends that I met after Jeter (of course) was Danni Marie, who was very nice to me and made me feel welcomed, but it seems like all she wanted to talk about is how good the Yankees look...? Especially Jeter when she sees the number 2 on the back of his uniform... I guess she likes the number 2...? I just don't get it...?

Other great people I met on Weplay early on, who I like very very much, are Nicole Fecht, Erik Gaffron, Sage, Sami, and Alexa McGraw. We have had some interesting conversations and I hope we continue to write to each other...

Other newer friends I've met and hope we continue to be friends is Joyce (see Joyce... I made you first... I hope your happy now), Kalee Naraine (very special friend), Lilly Marie, Stacian Doyley and Jennifer Berg...

One last (dff not least) really great friend I met here at Weplay is Ariel Epstein, we spoke for a couple months, then realized we were both going to the same Yankees Game and sitting in the same section... well we met at the game... Some how finagled our way into front row seats and we (she) screamed at Jeter at every opportunity while ordering me to get up and wave our Weplay banner at him... Because of her... Jeter saw our sign... then smiled at us... like I've always said, he smiled more at Ariel than me... I will never turn down an offer to go to a Yankee's game with her... Ariel, it has been so very nice to meet you.

Throughout June and into July... I became more and more excited about my road trip north... Not only was I excited about going to Hershey Park, The Baseball Hall of Fame and a couple of other places but especially visiting Yankee Stadium and seeing the worlds best sports team, The New York Yankees play the Baltimore Orioles... My seats were close to the first base side and the Yankees dug out.

Sixteen family members and friends packed into 3 cars... and left Worcester, Ma at 12:30 PM and arrived at Yankee Stadium about 3:30 PM. As we were hanging around outside the stadium I was sooo happy to see soo many Yankee Fans. J I was finally in a place that made my dad and his family a little uncomfortable...J When the gates opened, I felt like there was millions of people trying to squeeze into one door... but when I finally walked into the stadium and seen the green grass, the cloudy blue sky and my GREAT SEATS with JETER hanging around second base... I knew I would have a really, really great time...

Once in my seat I immediately stood up, yelled to Jeter, then raised my weplay sign... my dad said that Jeter looked over at me and seen the sign... and that Jeter gave a huge smile. A little while later... Ariel came down and introduced herself... and shortly after that I found myself, along with Ariel screaming at Jeter while raising the weplay sign during his warm-ups... Once again, Jeter looks over at us... (I know he heard us... I mean Ariel) and then gave us a big smile...

The game didn't go very well for the Yankees or for "Moose"... Moose got slammed early by Kevin Millar with a 2nd inning 3 run homer... and then their center fielder, Jones hit a GS off David Robertson in the 6th...

The Yankees had one good inning... in the 7th, Xavier Nady hit a solo homer to left and Johnny Damon hit a 3 run homer to right... Just before Damon hit his HR... he tagged a foul ball off the shoulder of a little kids sitting next to me... I put my glove up and turned my head away because that was the fastest I have ever seen a ball come at me... The little kid got hurt... not too bad, but he got an autograph ball from Damon... wish that was me...

In the 6th... Jeter singled to center... so this gave me and Ariel the opportunity to yell and scream at Jeter one last time... we also got a couple pictures of us with him on first base...

I will never forget that I was able to see the Yankees play one last game at Yankee Stadium... The house that Ruth built and Jeter closed... the greatest team in the history of all sports... and when I finally get back to school (first and second day of school was canceled today because of Tropical Storm Fay) and fall baseball with the YMCA of Weston begins, I will tell my friend about weplay and hopefully I can bring a few in...

Stay tuned... more to come after this...

  4. YANKEE STADIUM BOUND!!!

It's Sunday, July 28th 2008... Tomorrow we leave for Yankee Stadium to see the best sports team in all of sports play a baseball game against the Baltimore Orioles!!!

As I've said all season the Yankees would be in position to take first place in the AL East by this time and it has come true!!! Only 2.5 games behind the the Rays and 1 game behind the dreaded Boston RedSox... After today The Great Yankee Dynasty of Jeter, Mr. Rivera, Pettitte and Company will prove to the doubting world once again there is no other "nation" (get it) that can compare to "The Franchise".

Furthermore, I'll have a chance to meet Ariel... My friend from Weplay... she will be attending tomorrows game and I believe has seats fairly close to mine... My greatest hope is that we get pictures and autographs with Jeter (Posada, Giambia, Mr. Rivera, Pettite, Mooose would be very nice too)... , but if that can't happen then I try to get any Yankees picture/autograph even if I have to ask the batboy/girl...

Well time is limited on this computer so I have to cut it short... I'm sharing this computer with quite a few of my relatives who are also visiting my Grandfather in Worcester, Massachusetts AND going to the game... Funny thing, they're all RedSox fans... but they appreciate baseball so much that they are spending quite a bit of money to "experience" a game in Yankee Stadium during it's farwell tour... I continue to peck away at their RedSox Loyalty.

I promise to post pics... whatever pics I can get and I'll talk to you all later this week.... Stay tuned... I LIVE FOR THIS!!!

  5. ALL MOST THERE!!! 11 MORE DAYS!!!

Well tomorrow I leave for Massachusetts... First stop on the way, will be a tour of our Nations Capitol... Washington DC... I haven't been there since 2003 and never got to visit the Jefferson Memorial or Capitol Building. Seen the Pentagon and then the White House and Washington Memorial in 03, but that was all the time we had...

Next stop will be Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania... I've been to Disney World and most of the other parks in Orlando, so I'll have something to compare it to. I bet nothing beats their CHOCOLATE in Hershey...

Then we'll visit Niagra Falls... I really don't see what the hype about falling water is all about, but they say when you "experience"Niagra falls it is incredible... I'll see about that...

The last place we visit will be COOPERSTOWN... THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME!!! This will be really cool, but I not too familiar with a lot of the old players... I know about Micky Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Babe Ruth... I also heard of guys like Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski (Gotta listen to my dad). I think I will learn more about baseball's history on that day than on any other day...

After Cooperstown... I'll stay with my Grandmother and father in Worcester, Massachusetts... surrounded by the enemy... the dreaded Boston RedSox Fans... UNTIL JULY 28TH... THEN I'LL BE IN THE BRONX... AT YANKEE STADIUM... HANGIN OUT WITH JETER... GIAMBI... POSADA...AND THE REST OF THE NEW YORK YANKEES!!!

I'll be back home sometime around August 6th or 7th... Then it will be time to get ready for Fall Baseball in Florida...
I don't know how much access I'll have to the internet while I'm gone... But I will check in at weplay whenever I get the chance...
Talk to all of you soon and I hope "OUR sign" gets me on TV at the Yankees Game... to be continued...
  6. So Far, So Bored

Well I'm still counting down the days until I see Jeter and the Yankees play in YANKEE STADIUM. 36 DAYS LEFT!!!

I've been fairly bored so far this summer, spent some time at my friends playing rock band and other games. I think the only 3 things that have kept me going is trading messages and posting my doctored pics on WEPLAY, watching the Yankees on MLB TV, and finally being able to play my Playstation 3 games on line (I finally figured out that the mobile home phone had to be disconnected before I could update anything.)

Today I planned on shooting hoops but it rained all afternoon. I would have gone in the morning except I sleep late on account it's Summer Vacation.

Well, I'll keep hoping that the Yankees will be either in first place or close to it in July when I go see them. Untill then I I hope they (we) all stay healthy and I stay busy...

PS I'm trying to get everyone on the Yankees into their own doctored pic, so keep posted, the way things are going, I'll probably do one per day if not two on those really boring days...

  7. The Count Down Begins

It's summer again down here in Miami, school is done and baseball season is over. It gets too hot to play and it usually rains hard in the afternoons. I still try and get a game together whenever possible, especially a wiffle ball game. So here I sit in the cool A/C of my home, playing video games. Sometimes I get to the YMCA and shoot some hoops or go for a swim in their brand new outdoor olympic sized swimming pool and count down the days until the fall baseball season starts. This Year, I have something else to COUNTDOWN! What is it you ask??? A visit to THE BRONX and YANKEE STADIUM!!!! On Monday night, July 28th, I will be 6 rows from the field, just beyond the Yankees Dugout, about even with first base. Living in Miami, I have a hard time getting to see the Yankees play. But with the help of my dad we have already seen a Yankee spring training game at Dolphin stadium (11 rows behind the Yankees dugout). I've been to Yankee Stadium only one other time back in 2004, when Rubin Serria hit a walk off home run against the Blue Jays. Jeter was hurt and did not play, but he came out before the game, warmed up and then signed autographs. My dad said that why everyone likes Jeter. I like him because he's the greatest baseball player. So today is June 3rd and there are 55 DAYS to go until I watch the best team in the history of sports, Live and up close. I hope all the Yankees stay healthy and are able to play this day and that they win with monster homeruns, one right after the other. No Rain, No Rain, No Rain.
