About me – About Le Grand Trampoline & Cheer LLC. Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. Le Grand Trampoline and Cheer, LLC was opened in 2006 by Pedro J. "PJ" Legrand. It was born out of a growing need for experienced tumbling, cheerleading, and trampoline instruction in Connecticut. PJ, is the owner and head instructor of Le Grand Trampoline and has been involved with the sport of gymnastics for nearly twenty-seven years. PJ began his career as a competitive gymnast in Puerto Rico where he made the pre-selection team for the Olympic Trials 1984. He then went on to join the coaching staff of the Puerto Rican Women's National Gymnastics Team specializing in the Balance Beam and Floor Exercises. In addition, PJ earned two 2nd degree black belts in Karate and was the Puerto Rican National Champion in 1984. After moving to the United States, PJ developed an interest in the ever developing and expanding sport of cheerleading. His knowledge of gymnastics combined with his background as a cheerleading coach has made him a very well respected and sought after instructor especially in the Fairfield County area of Connecticut. Currently, PJ works with the coaches and cheerleading teams at Spirit Check Elite All Stars in Manchester CT, Stamford H.S. New Canaan H.S. W. Harding H.S in Bridgeport Redding H.S. Brien McMahon H.S in Norwalk CT. Naugatuck H.S. His past experience includes working with and coaching nationally ranked All Star programs Greenwich Tumble and Cheer LLC ( Liberty All Stars ) in Greenwich CT and CT Cheer and Dance LLC ( CT Cougars ) in Durham CT, high school cheerleading programs such as Greenwich H.S. North Branford H.S. Crownwell H.S. Westport H.S. Bridgeport Central H.S. Port Chester H.S. NY. White Plains H.S. NY. PJ has also been a judge at various local and regional cheerleading competitions throughout the area. PJ is certified at the Master Level for the NCSSE for high school, USASF certified to Level 5 by the National All Star Coaches Associate on, and certified by the USAG for Tumbling and Trampoline instruction and safety. Also a USAG member. PJ's philosophy is "Let's have fun". Although the sports of gymnastics and cheerleading both require physical agility and discipline, they can also be very rewarding and enjoyable sports. You can learn and have fun at the same time! The ultimate goal at LT&C is to educate and train both gymnasts, coaches and athletes in the safest and most effective ways to master skills that will maximize the potential of their programs and athletes. We feel that if the athlete can put the time and effort into practicing the ir skills, we as coaches and instructors can teach them properly, patiently and in a stress free environment. It is a perfect combination for your child and athlete. We do not believe in "punishment". Punishment is a negative approach and is not productive. (In fact, studies show: "punishment makes things worse for your child physically, emotionally and mentally.") Our philosophy encourages support, discipline and life lesson experiences. We help them to fix their mistakes by using constructive and positive reinforcement. LT&C offers classes in Beginning through Advanced Tumbling, Cheerleading Stunt Skills and Proper Progressions, Coaches' Training Classes and classes that work on specific tumbling skills such as Back Hands prings, Back Tucks, Layouts, and Full Twists. LT&C also offers trampoline classes for cheerleaders, divers, ice skaters and anyone wanting a high intensity cardio workout.
