About Coach Mark

Hometown – Nevada, Iowa
About me – President of the Wisconsin Wausau Northern Little League--2007 State Champs. I love coaching because of what it gives me: a chance to teach the game that taught me so much about life. I've coached regular season teams, all-star teams, city championship teams, district championship teams, and state championship teams and what makes me smile from time to time is not the results of those teams, but the fact that I find myself using the same analogies, the same stories, the same techniques my little league coach used on me 35 years ago. It's a good reminder that the kids I'm coaching today may do the same thing and I need to be mindful of what I want them to remember.

Quote – "The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come."
Movies – Field of Dreams, Saving Private Ryan, Facing the Giants
Music – Other than classical, I like it all
Video games – Who can get on the X-Box with 4 boys playing?
TV shows – SportsCenter, Chelsea Lately
