I long toss with a weighted ball. All that happens is that the weighted ball makes me push more with legs and helps create more power. It just comes naturally to me.

You can throw side arm, it's just frowned upon. WHen some players throw like that for a while, they can hurt their arm and have bad results from it.

You can deffinitly steal if the ball is a strike, just make sure you can beat the throw down to the bag =)

Another important thing is how far you lead off. If the pop up is hit near you, lead off less than you would if it were hit far away from you.

I was always taught short stop covers. I thinnk that it would take pitcher too long to cover and it would take left field too long to cover.

You need to work on the macchamics and practicing them the correct way. Repitition will help your muscle memory.

Like Isabelle said you should do the scoop, or as some people say the aligator. Even if you are afraid of it bouncing just know that your body will block it. The key is to just trust that you can get it and focus on the play.
