“This game was a little bit different than games we have cheered for in the past. We were definitely in front of a different crowd. This is the first time the girls have had the opportunity to cheer in front of such a large audience on ...”
“It was great to start the season off with a win! Not only did the boys play well, the girls did a great job of cheering! I think we got all the nerves out, and things should continue to get better! Great work girls!!!”
“Another game, another win!! The Danville Freshman team is turning out to be quite the team to cheer for, which will make for a much more exciting season!! The cheerleaders continued to improve, and really looked great during the 2nd hal...”
“Brianna has done an excellent job so far this season of keeping energy up! She calls cheers and chants when needed, and isn't afraid to take on a leadership position. Brianna loves cheering, and it shows! Great job!!”
About me – I'm 22 years old and will officially become an IU alum on December 18, 2010! Bloomington in the fall and spring time is by far and wide one of my favorite places on Earth (and in February at 8 am one of my LEAST favorite). I live for college sports, despite the fact that my Hoosiers are in a recovery period right now (That's fan speak for "they suck"). The Ohio State Buckeyes get me through my weeks though, and I can't get enough of College Gameday. Marry me, Kirk!
I graduated from Danville in 2006, where cheerleading was pretty much my life. I love everything about this little town and it's people, and I'm so excited to be back and helping out with this program! As a coach, I'd say I'm pretty strict, but I let the cheerleaders earn their fun. I will push you as far as I think you can go, which may be different from how far you think you can go. But I think that's the part that makes cheerleading so fun-- getting to show off your impressive new skills.
The last few things you should know about me: I love to laugh and I live to make others laugh. A good sense of humor is THE most important thing in the world to me; Second, I love my friends. Without them I'm not me. Period; and finally, if you ever want to find the way to my heart, it's through my stomach. And more specifically, with Mexican food. I could eat Taco Bell every day (and actually DID one sad, sad finals week about a year ago...) and never get tired of it.
The last thing-- I have trouble giving short, to the point responses. Hmm...
Dream job – College Football Sideline Reporter-- Move over Erin Andrews
Superstition – Not really a superstition, but I'm terrified of falling down stairs! Never get behind me on stairs because I walk slooowww!
Players – Anthony Gonzalez and Shaq (The man is hilarious. Seriously. Go Youtube him, now.)
Teams – HOOSIERS & BUCKEYES!!!! my heart is torn across the Big 10! And of course the Colts!
Quote – We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle
Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan. -JFK
Movies – Heavyweights; Zoolander; Drop Dead Gorgeous; Elf; Stepbrothers
Books – Yikes... it's hard to pick favorites here. I rarely read a book I don't like (which is good, considering my profession). Most recently I reread To Kill a Mockingbird for a college class and I feel in love with it all over again. That Atticus Finch rocks.
Music – I love any type of music except Nickelback or Creed. I'd rather listen to three hours of elevator music than "Look at this photograph..."
Video games – Anything with Mario in it tends to get my vote.
TV shows – Law & Order SVU; Modern Family; The Middle; Will & Grace
