Hello visitors and friends! How are you guys doing. First off I want to tell you about my experience in basketball. For those who want to be the best, you have to start from scratch. I'll tell you why that is. It all started when I was in high school. I've made my schools basketball team at the age of 17, the first time I was ever on any team. (I still don't know how I made it, I was in the tryouts with 2 sprained ankles) It all started with our first game. I was the player of the game playing PF and scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds my first game. Afterwards, our next game we didn't do so well, I don't even think I scored that game but I had about 5 rebounds. Seeing other people score, I wanted to do so too. I've asked my coach if I can move to SF, because I can shoot the ball really well and I'm more comfortable playing that position. The coach told me no. This started a small feud between me and the coach. The next couple of games I was playing horrible. The next few games I went scoreless and I had to play against real PF's in the league in which I was being manhandled. After that, I started being rebellious by shooting 3's in the game when I wasn't supposed to, not following plays and totally was messing things up. When my team was getting beat, I was laughing at them. I started being really immatureAfterwards it got to the point where this newcomer came in and immediately got playing time. I was the teams 6th man and my minutes just dwindled to barely nothing. Eventually, I've quit the team.Thinking about from that time, it had to be the stupidest thing I've ever done. Now I'm 20, wanting to play for a team, but can't because I don't have enough money, and I can't find team leagues to join. Since I've grown a bit wiser from the years, I always think about what I could have done. If I had just notthought aboutthe negative thoughts my coach had about me, how people laughed at me in basketball practice, or how horrible I was doing, I could've been part of a team and made myself better. My advice to you is even if you know you can do better, you have to start from scratch and build you way up. If the coach doesn't think your good enough, practice everyday and then when your given a chance to play show the coach what you can do. Look at Kevin Martin, a guard from the Sacramento Kings. He is a perfect example. He knew he could've probably done well, but he worked on his game more and more to the point where when he was called, he did the job. Eventually, he got most improved player of the year, and is now a starter. Same with Tracy McGrady. When he first got into the league, he wasn't played much. He was even told he's not going to last long in this league. Did T-Mac let that get him down? No. He kept going and now he's an NBA superstar. Now everyone is a Kevin Durant or a LeBron James or an Amare Stoudemire. You gotta work. So if you feel your being underused, if your being laughed at, or if your being talked about by your coach, keep working on your game and if you get the chance, you'll surprise and prove all the naysayers wrong. Well good luck on your basketball seasons, I wish you all luck.
