I love golf so that makes this a big week for me. It's the US Open Championship which is being played on Long Island New York at Bethpage Black.

Bethpage was the first public golf course to host a US Open which Tiger Woods won 10 years ago. It returns this year and once again Tiger is the favorite.

Lots of great story lines this week - a great public golf course in a great city. It should be fun.

USA Football, the sport's national governing body on youth and amateur levels, today announced that Carl Peterson will serve as the independent non-profit's new chairman. Peterson, a successful football scout, coach and NFL team executive for more than 40 years, assumes the organization's leadership role following the death of former chairman Jack Kemp.

An independent non-profit, USA Football was endowed by the NFL and NFL Players Association in 2002 and is composed of members - youth coaches, league commissioners and game officials - residing in all 50 states. USA Football hosts more than 100 football training events annually offering education for coaches and game officials, skill development for players and resources for youth football league commissioners.

America's sole member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), USA Football manages U.S. national teams for international competition.

Weplay launched a new tool to enhance your blog/news feature. You can now better control your fonts, colors, lists and things.

They also update the way news and comments are displayed. I think its a great enhancement.

Go ahead and give it a try.

We launched some new features again yesterday. Our dev team had a very productive week.

We all are working hard to provide the best mix of utility and fun for our users.

One cool feature we now offer is widgets for our groups. On a group page, click on the widget tab to check it out.

You can simply "copy and paste" the provided code and place it on another website to help spread the word.

A lot of our team and league users have existing websites. This widget is the perfect way to bring two sites together and get everyone involved.

Anyone can do it so give it a try and help spread the word about your group on weplay.

    What a tournament.

A great venue, lots of drama with multiple storylines.

Hats off to Rocco for hanging tough and Tiger once again takes things to a new level.

He figured out a way to win.

  10. Tiger and Phil together forever

The USGA released the first and second round pairings for next weeks US Open at Torrey Pines.

They pride themselves on making controversial pairings and this year is no different.

Tiger and Phil (joined by Adam Scott) will play together the first two days.

They are not very fond of one another so it should make for interesting viewing. I feel bad for the group behind them as it will be a crazy scene.

I think it will work to Tigers advantage, make him focus more on winning and less on his knee.
