Good practice tonight.A bit slow for my liking but we got a few housekeeping issues out of the way and we can not move on. Is there a such thing as too tough? How do you balance the strong kids with the ones who do not like to be pushed? How do you push the strong to be stronger and pick the ones up that are in need of a helping hand and show them they can do it as well as the others? Is there a real side to coaching that shows that number one care is the kids and how they feel about life and what is going on outside the gym? How do you get across that there is so much more to life than a ball and net. At the end of the day, it might just be you and the ball. Can you prepare for that? 16 is such a interesting age. Schol sucks and they know everything for the most part. (If you ask them)..... But yet they really have no idea. Its such a fun age to coach because they are for the most part sponges. You get the few that are hard headed, but they are the challenge. I respect this team and thing i can help them get better on and off the court. That in which does not kill me will only make me stronger....right?
Good night
