Team Mom - Tiffany Curtis

By Candice Coots

On-the-go mom Tiffany Curtis from Waldorf, Maryland is all about organization. Her ability to juggle four kids, a full time job as well as her volunteer responsibilities for the St. Charles Bears Anklebiters is, well, inspiring. But her real talent is her ability to make hard work, time management and football fun.

Our Team Parent of the Week’s key to success? Focusing on fundamentals, but doing so with a smile on your face. No matter if she’s on the sidelines or at home with the kids, Curtis gives every task her best effort and encourages each of her Anklebiter players to do the same.

She’s not alone. Husband Jamar is the team’s head coach and the rest of the family is involved too. Their eldest son Jamar, is a member of the 7U Anklebiters. Youngest son Jaren, is on the sidelines with dad, helping out as a mini coach - a role he covets each week! Daughters Jhane’ and Rashae are proud members of the Ankle Biters cheerleading squad.

Indeed, the St. Charles Bears organization is a family unit. Curtis shared that she values each player on the team as if they were own. She constantly checks in with them regarding their efforts on the field, at home and in school. Even more, she’s all about firing the kids up before a big game and ensuring that the experience is fun and educational.

Even after a hard days work at the Bowie Maryland electrical co-op, she’s motivated to inspire. For her the rewards are well worth it. Her favorite moments are showcased each week, when her player’s explode with excitement after a great play or save. The fact that she gets added time with her family is a bonus.

Our team mom has a great season ahead of her with the St. Charles Bears Homecoming dance just around the corner. Have a great time and Go Bears!

Tiffany Curtis’ Recommendations for Fellow Team Moms:

• Keep your parents informed of all things pertaining to the team and organization.
• Encourage the kids never to give up and go out and have fun.
• Be supportive of the coaches and parents.

As long as he does something that’s from the heart that will make him happy, I’ll be good.
