When it comes to team moms, Michelle Jackson may be a beginner, but she doesn’t get tripped up with rookie mistakes. The 41 year-old handles every challenge with ease and goes out of her way to handle even the smallest logistic for her son and his team. Tack on her positive attitude and ability to make things happen no matter the circumstance, and there’s no question she’s deserving of our Team Parent of the Week award.
Jackson was excited to step up to the plate as team mom for the Shiloh Generals - North 10U football team in Snellville, Georgia after her son Neimaan signed up. Immediately she knew the benefits: extra time with her son and the ability to mentor the other children. After spending the entire summer gearing up for the season with the Generals, she is confident they will have a successful season.
“It’s been quite an adventurous season thus far,” wrote Jackson on her first run as team mom.
While Jackson has learned quite a bit about the team and their families, she has enjoyed one aspect of her role more than others, witnessing growth. Watching each player develop individually and in turn evolve as team, has a been a pleasure for Jackson. She wrote that she’s literally watching the players transform into outstanding young athletes - a privilege indeed.
When she is not dedicating her time to the team, Jackson has a full time job as a systems analyst at Sage Software. Her work experience has provided her with organizational tools that has helped her tremendously so far this season.
We look forward to learning how the rest of the season goes. Congrats on your well-deserved recognition!
