Many sports families live their lives according to the schedule of their children’s teams, and it is no different for our Team Parent of the Week, Cherie Hovanec, whose family lives for soccer. As a mother of four handling the busy schedule of three youth athletes is not always an easy job. She has found Weplay to be the key to her success as both a former coach and current team manager.
Hovanec started using Weplay 2 ½ years ago as a coach, and is now using it as a team manager for the Gwinnett U12 Tornados soccer team from Lawrenceville, Georgia. Her whole team loves using the site, and she feels it as been a great communication tool for both the coaches and parents. “Whatever they need, it’s all in ONE place” wrote Hovanec. As a team mom she using it to help add the schedule, fill in scores, make updates, and upload photos. It allows her to take a lot of the stress off the coach so they can focus on what's important. She has been able to stay connected and up to date with every member of the team. All in all, she has found Weplay to be a wonderful way for her whole team to stay involved.
“You really are the ‘Most Valuable Parent’”, wrote one of the Tornados players on a recent prop to Hovanec.
