Olympic gold medalists work hard. They put in countless hours, make intense sacrifices, and conquer mind-boggling obstacles in pursuit of their respective sport's highest honor. When you consider that American cyclist Kristin Armstrong was able to train while being a mom-- well, it's simply amazing.

The 38 year-old Idahoan cyclist won the Olympic time trials with a time of 37 minutes, 34.82 seconds (she traveled 18 miles!). To gague just how dominant she was, consider that the second place finisher-- Judith Arndt of Germany-- finished a full 15 seconds later. When asked about her mindset, the newly crowned champion said "My mantra was, 'You have to live with this ride." She went on to add that "You're only as good as your last result."

Despite what many people might think, Kristin is NOT related, or married to, famous cyclist Lance Armstrong. Kristin is married to husband Joe Savola, and pictured above is their 1-and-a-half year-old son, Lucas William Savola. It might be a fairly safe bet that young Lucas will grow up to be a stellar athlete himself some day.

In winning her gold medal, Kristin became the oldest rider to win an Olympic time trial. She is an inspiration to cyclists, Americans, and most importantly: moms. She is living proof that if you put your mind to something and work hard enough that you can truly do anything. Way to go, Kristin.

Stay tuned to Weplay's London 2012 group for all of the latest action from the games.

Jennifer Cory isn't your normal football mom. She's a football fanatic, devoted photographer, cheerleader, active in her church, and an avid Weplayer! When we see a mom that transcends the duties of team mom as much as Jennifer does, we make sure to nominate them for Team Mom of the Week! Enjoy it Jennifer, you've earned it!

Jennifer lives in Pinellas Park, FL with her husband, James, and their three children. Her son, Michael, 9, is a member of the Pinellas Park T-Birds, and her daugher, 8, is a member of the Pinellas Park T-Birds cheerleading squad. Talk about a full plate! When Jennifer isn't on the sidelines, she's either spending time with her great family or over at her local church. The world could use a few more Jennifer Corys!

    Jennifer Cory

Jennifer is a big fan of the articles in our Weplay Moms section. If you've missed it, Weplay Moms is a great resource with a wealth of knowledge from other parents and youth sports experts.

Jennifer on the Weplay Moms section:

Weplay's positive, VERY positive articles on healthy eating has really helped our team. The parents realize that what their children eat will effect how they play. I am VERY thankful for those articles! It was a great way to let parents know how to feed their kids healthy without condemning their present eating choices. I have nothing but great things to say about Weplay!!!

Weplay: What is you favorite part about using Weplay?

Weplay gives me a GREAT secure place to upload the pictures of our games and practices, with easy access for the parents to see! Parents on our team love Weplay! The information is posted and available at any time, for anybody's schedule!

Baseball Moms have a way of being there for us right when we need them. They're there to cheer us on when we're at our highest, and build us up when we're not doing so great. Amanda Romazon embodies everything that you could ever ask from a Team Mom, and that's why she's Weplay's newest Team Mom of the Week. Amanda is the heart and soul of the Excelsior Springs Tigers-12U Baseball Team from Excelsior Springs, MO.

Weplay: What's your favorite part about using Weplay?
Amanda: Weplay saves me so much time as the team manager. I can go to one central location and make all the necessary updates and parent's get the information in their email. It is so much better than calling 11 different families. It is a great place to share photos that I have taken in a secure environment. I love Weplay!

Amanda Romazon's Three Tips For Other Team Moms:

1- It takes lots of volunteers to make a team run smooth. If everyone steps up to volunteer, it takes pressure off of one or two people.

2- Organization is key, and Weplay is the tool that helps you stay organized.

3- Take lots of pictures, you are going to want to look back on the memories when the kids are older. I love doing it for my parents.

The Tigers are currently 9-2-1 this season, with one more game and two tournaments remaining. We wish them the best of luck. We're not too worried though, they're sure to do great with great mentoring from the likes of Team Moms like Amanda!!!!

Here at Weplay, we get a lot of great photos submitted by our users. We see action shots of swimming, baseball, gymnastics... you name it. Some of the finest and most in-depth pictures that we've received have come from our newest Team Mom of the Week, Cheryl Alpert. She has an affinity for capturing the goal scoring prowess of the MPS Bulldogs BU16 boys soccer team from Weston, MA.

    Cheryl Alpert

Cheryl lives in Weston with her husband, Tom, and their two sons: Eben (18) and Chason (16). When she's not behind the lens for the Bulldogs, she's the National Director of Strategy. Advocacy, and Marketing for a very prominent non-profit company. Aside from that, she's an avid art collecter and loves to garden.

Team Mom of the Week:  THURSDAY, JUL 21, 2011

Youth sports are the building blocks for success in all stages of life, both on and off the field. They teach us discipline, fortitude, honesty, and most importantly teamwork. Teamwork is the one major block that September Ward has tried to instill in her girls. Whenever a member of the Michigan Prowlers gets injured or struggles, the rest of the team rallies around their fallen friend and supports her. This excellent example set by September is why we chose her as our Team Mom of the Week.

September lives in Michigan with her husband, Bob, and their three daughters: Ashley (20), Taylor (15), and Summer(13). Summer is the point guard for the Prowlers, and Bob Ward is the head coach. September and Bob are the founding members of the Prowlers. The team participates in the AAU and AYBT (American Youth Basketball Tour) seasons, which means they play basketball from February all the way through July, and travel all across Michigan.

As far as September's influence in teamwork goes, there's one story in particular that comes to mind: During a recent game, her daughter Summer went down with an ankle injury. The entire team rallied around her and made her feel amazingly supported. The Prowlers posted messages on her Weplay profile, sent letters, and let everybody know that their teammate came first!

Weplay: What's your favorite part about using Weplay?

September: We have so many games/tournaments during the year, that I'd be lost without Weplay.  I set up my account three years ago and love all the new additions.  The Prowler parents have become a part of it as well.  We have parents that upload game pictures, set up volunteers for food, etc. and we have one parent that keeps our stats and writes all the game recaps on the Scoreboard that we all love to read!  Weplay is the best organizational tool for sports teams, especially team moms that are the managers!

    The Michigan Prowlers

September Ward's Three Tips For Other Team Moms:

1-  Get as many parents involved as possible.....it really helps ease the stress.

2-  Use as many functions of Weplay as possible to help keep communication with the parents flowing.

3-  If you are unsure of something ask for help on Weplay.  The staff respond very quickly and are very friendly.

The Prowlers will be competing in AYBT Nationals this weekend. Good luck!
