Well there are certain exercises that you can do to work on vertical leap. One easy one would be to jump rope. You can also do calf raises and box jumps which will help train the calves and hamstring fast twitch muscle fibers. Squats are necessary for working the posterior chain which builds stability in the quads and glutes. All necessary for increasing vertical leap. CAUTION! Any type of plyometric exercise must be done correctly or you can do serious damage to the muscles. So if you don't know how to do it correctly, work with a trainer/coach before attempting. The last thing you want to do is tear a muscle or tendon with improper form. Word of advice, YouTube videos are not always correct so it is no substitution for a qualified trainer.

Dont use ankle weights they destroy your leaping ability. Try Jumpsoles, squats, jump rope and even bike riding

Try jumping the box. It helps your twitch muscles to become faster, and it builds muscles in your legs.
