First, I will ask a question then we we move on from there. Are you a player or a parent?
As a Player, stop and ask yourself this question, "why are you on this team?" the answer should be that the coach saw something in you that you have not yet seen in yourself. your are not supposed to like your coaches either way. Your Coach is there to teach you the game and to teach you to progress in the sport, regardless what it maybe.
The same applies to school. you cant pick the teachers that you like, you go to the ones that can teach you. go in with the mind set that they are there to teach (Coach) you the sport. if there are other reasons that you do not want to play for that coach then you should voice them.If you are a parent, re-read what I just wrote.

Not sure if you are talking REC, Comp or school ball. The latter 2 you usually have to try out and both sides (coaches & players) have an opportunity to determine if they are good fits However, in REC leagues, many players are drafted blindly and no one has the luxury of knowing what they are getting themselves into.
Either way, I would probably handle it the same way. I would determine what my issues are with the coach and then PRIVATELY (maybe with your parents, depending on your age) approach the Coach and lay the issues on the table. In all cases, make sure you discuss these issues with someone you trust and will give you good advice (like your parents or an open-minded adult figure) before going to the Coach. You don't really want to call this big meeting to say you don't like him/her because they own a pair of yellow shoes (or something else that is not a real issue).
Also keep in mind coach & player relationships take time to develop, just like any other friendship. I do believe coaching is more than teaching a sport, it's teaching and guiding them to make good choices both on and off the field.
Maybe more importantly is...what are your issues with your coach? Are they justified?

Make a decision for YOURSELF that you WILL have fun, enjoy the game, and play well no matter what is going on around you. Consciously making that decision for yourself and staying more focused on what you can do vs staying focused on how much you don't like your coach will help you learn a valuable lesson and will give you the outlook you need to still be successful in this situation and not allow your coach to take your game away from you. It's a choice you make. You can allow your coach to ruin your season or you can choose to enjoy the game and do your best no matter what!
