I would say unless you are an elite player, I would suggest not spending too much for a bat. The advantage you would getfrom an expensive bat would be small unless you could really drive the ball with a lot of power.

The Freak or Titan (baseball bats have no idea for softball)

We got rid of what someone call our 6 pack bat (like it was made out of cans from a 6 pack). It cost a lot more, but we really tell the difference. Someone made a comment above about the bat has no idea for softball, please check with your League about their rules for bats. Ours has to have ASA stamped on them or they are illegal for use.
