absolutley not, Age 7 is the perfect age to get a coach if she is serious about it. Getting her started so young will make her more confortable with the tequniques and she may even make other friends who can encourage her along the way and as she learns.

Seven is not too young. Proper mechanics is key for a new pitcher and getting it right the first time is essential. A pitching coach or a pitching camp will ensure that your athlete gets the best start. They won't overwork or underwork her. I would probably go for a camp first to make sure she likes it and is in for all the work ahead (it's not easy on a child - pitching - it's a physically AND mentally challenging position and not everyone sees the sweat it takes to gain the glory. You must practice every day - as a parent - you get to know pitching as well because a coach becomes expensive quickly - also if you don't know too much about pitching - you could EASILY waste time and $$ on the wrong one.

Do your own research, get into a camp and ask them who they'd suggest.

Take her to a pitching coach this will make her mentally strong.
This will give her the best opportunity to be a good pitcher.
Our 8U team from Santa Fe Springs, CA was in a ASA tournament and we ran into a road block 8U girl from Cypress League she was pitching like a pitching machine. I never new girls at this age would have grate mechanics.
Our 8U team ended in 2nd place in this tournament. After this defeat our 8U coach started batting all of his players with the a pitching machine before District.

definitely not too young. in fact, if she is serious about pitching, getting a good coach will ensure that she doesn't overuse and injure her still-developing muscles
