Hi Nancy: I am a former college volleyball/softball coach and owner of femaleathletesfirst.com. Yes, there are ways to get seen by coaches out of a school sponsored program. Many coaches recruit out of junior olympic programs and from select soccer programs and leagues. You can also send info. yourself to college coaches or use a recruiting service. A lot of recruiting is done on-line now, so network there. Have your coaches or guidance counselor call college coaches also. Hope this helps.

I am head coach of the San Jose Lady Sharks fastpitch organization 12U team and our org. sends 8 to 10 players to college with scholarships on a yearly basis. We have 2 18 gold teams and they play showcase invitational tournaments around the country, where there are college scouts from every major university there just to look at the talent available if you want more info go to www.ladysharks.com

    Hello Nancy -
Great question....many colleges now recruit at Soccer Showcases. Your club team may enter them in November - June and this is where many college coaches go to recruit. In addition to that - ODP is a great venue too...Obviously US Developmental Academy is a way to go...but I wouldn't be too worried if you don't play high school....as a matter of fact many kids opt not to play high school and play club year round.
    Good Luck!

You could email the coaches that you want to be seen by. There is this site also where coaches will come and look at you. berecruited.com it helps a lot!

Yes! You need to have a plan. Getting yourself in front of the coaches is important. Make sure you get a video done, send your schedule and play club/travel ball. But no matter what, if you don't let a coach know you exist...you don't. If you have any more questions, let me know. I'm a former DI Coach and Player. Email me at info@recruitsights.com

yes you can play on lots of good soccer teams and if your good the teams you play might ask you to join and do the same thing and also try out for the college teams and see if you make it.
