    Player development but you need to win a couple or else they will think they are bad at whatever sport you are coaching.

    player development. its better for them to impprove their skills then win.even though winning is nice its not the most important thing in the world!

    obviously player development. Winning only matters for pro sports... Not a youth league...

    I agree. Player development is most important. My dimemna is that the league has implemented a single elimination playoff. Win or go home.

    Chris,
    In the single elimination format your league has made the decision for you. Play to win. This change in direction for you is a great teaching opportunity for you. Your kids must learn and understand that the decisions that you make now are different than the ones you made in early and mid season. Beware though, may be hard to accept for both your players and your parents.

    Player development is important but they have to win a little to keep their spirits up or they'll never win if they have a bad attitude.

    If they have down the stuff that is most important than winning should be there goal.

    player developement is more important but winning can be your accompleshment.......... its like winning a trophy but you win because of your skills and it makes you more proud!
