Yes could you explain to me in Softball what is a second string and A first string My Daughter
My Daughter is in the 10th grade this year . and she went straight into varisty. Well the last year she got Second string. and this year she got 1st string. I really dont know what that really mean. If anyone can explain it I would be greatfull.

Well I think 1st string is a starter. And that would make 2nd string second. Starters are the players that will start the game. The 2 string would be their "subs" so to speak if someof the players can't play the whole game. I hope this helps! :-)

I agree with what April has said about the situation.Tell your daughter congratulations for making 1st string on the varsity team! This is a tremendous honor for a sophomore (10th grader).

1st String is usually the starters and the better players on the team the second string is sometimes just a fine line away from the first string they are both really important no matter what they are called
