Looking for creative fundraising ideas. We're doing canning, bake sales and pot luck dinners. Any thoughts?

Our Pop Warner team may be going to the National Championship in Florida. time is limited for us. We are trying to be inventive and creative in raising money for the boys so it's not too much of a burden right before christmas.

The most effective fundraising idea our organization has done is World's Finest Chocolates! It's fast to order, inexpensive and anything ready to use/eat right away is always a great fundraiser! You can also call your local restaurants (locally ours we have used are Culver's, Applebee's, Chili's) and host a fundraising night. You just have any ( not just those you invite) mention your organization when paying and anywhere rom 10%-20% would go towards your organization! Hope those works for you!

    1. we just did the applebees, don't know yet how much we raised. we'll find out tomorrow. we are a little late on doing the world's famous, but that is a great idea for next season. we only have 3 more weeks to raise funds, so hopefully we can move a mountain in that short period of time. thank you though for your thoughts! certainly was helpful

We were really successful this last summer for baseball with World's Finest Chocolate and Jack Links Jerkey. The Jerkey went faster than the chocolate.
We are planning to do that again this year, but also the restaurant card thing.

I find in fundraising, it is sometimes easier to do one event vs. several fundraising efforts. Our best fundraisers were the combination dinner (taco or spaghetti feed) and silent auction. add a 50/50 raffle, and in a town of only 2500, we usually netted $4-5K in one night. Also selling ready-made gourmet cookie dough made a good profit at 50% of sales, plus we collected the order money in advance and paid half for our order, so we had instant funds available for the organization.

We are trying this one. Each player gets $2 worth of pledges per runs scored by our team. If we score 100 runs thats $200 x 20 players = $4000. I let you know how it goes.

The best fundraiser is to have your club get paid for stuff that you already buy. Club Outfitter does just that. We all know that for every sport comes apparel needs for that sport such as Jersey's, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, spirit wear etc. Your club/team get's a 100% FREE online store and players, parents, fans, etc can go on at anytime year round and buy apparel that you as a team pick out and create. 10% of everything sold comes directly back to the team. It also makes ordering easier for parents and WAY easier for the coach. Check it out at http://www.cluboutfitter.com Your buying the stuff anyway why not make it a fundraiser.

First of all, congrats on getting your fundraising started! Raising support for a worthy cause can be super rewarding.

One route you might want to consider is setting up a homepage for your group on a fundraising website.

Raising support online is much simpler and more tidy than raising funds via cash or check (most sites can link donations straight to your bank account through a merchant processor). And having a group page gives you a central place to post information, photos and let people know what you do - this helps you promote your cause to friends, family and whoever else you want.

There are plenty of sites these days that help groups meet their goals - here are some good options:

First Giving (www.firstgiving.com) is a solid one. They charge about 5% on donations raised and have a simple structure to set up your page (though you may have to be a certified non-profit to register with them).

If that's the case, another option is Empowered (www.empowered.org). They process about 3.5% on donations raised, offer lots of tools to help organize/fundraise, and I know they support all small groups, regardless of non-profit status.

And you could always try to send up your own PayPal account to link to you directly, but this is a little trickier and a bit inflexible.

Good luck getting your fundraising going, I hope this helps!

Our team is using Sports Raffle this year.
It's a great idea..Raffle off a trip! We plan to sell tickets during our games and around town. It did not cost anything to set up and we can sell tickets to anyone- anywhere...We feel it's easier to sell a $20 ticket for a trip than magazine, candy etc..Our goal is to raise over $10K.
Winning ticket will be drawn at our end of year banquet...

Our youth league will be using same fundraiser to cover cost of post season tournaments..
