lead foot placement. if your pitch is going to the left move it slightly to the right. make a T from the mound to home plate centered and look at placement of you foot and make adjustments. hope this helps

Agree, draw a 'power line' and stay on it.

    Hi Hannah,
Keep trying new mechanics and use the ones that work for you. Pitching is an art not an exact science. Get lots of practice. When you start pitching start half way between the mound and the plate take a step back (toward the mound) every time you throw a strike, until you get back to the mound. Sometimes it helps to pitch to a batter rather than a catcher.

Pitch for accuracy not for speed. Good pitches have 3 things: location, movement, and speed. Speed is the least important.

The most important thing is that you are motivated to succeed. Great players have slumps and streaks, but they have one thing in common, they are always ready to succeed. Keep at it.

    1. I disagree. I believe most PC's generally go with this order of priority:
      -Form,
      -Speed,
      -Control
Good form results in speed. Practicing good form results in control. If you emphasis control, you give up form and speed, which takes much longer to unlearn.

First, don't give up. Practice some more. Try practicing with someone at the batter's box.

If you, your catcher and inevitably the ump are finding your pitches missing the mark by a sliver, chat with your catcher about pulling her glove off target to compensate. Easy fix in a game situation, then work out your bugs in the next practice.

It might be safer to use the term "open" the hips. Turning the hips could be confused with squaring the hips towards the target.
