if you are worried about the pitcher's speed, then what you need to do when you are at bat is that when the pitcher snaps her wrist and releases the ball, that's when you take a step. Some coaches even say that you start swiming when she releases.

Just as you may be worried about the pitcher, so too might the pitcher be nervous about you.

There are two things to remember. First, everybody gets nervous, at least a little, for championship games. So capitalize on that and jump on mistakes early. However, make certain that you only swing at strikes--don't be too aggressive.

Second thing to remember is that nobody wins every time. Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter, Tim Lincecun--they all lose too. This pitcher can also lose because she is human.

Make certain to focus on what you can control. Swing only at good pitches. Field well. Do your best. Focus not on the end result, but on HOW you perform. The rest will take care of itself

Sometimes it's all about mind-set. Everytime this team beats you their confidence goes up while yours goes down.By this time you should know the pitchers way of pitching and where you're weaknesses are and must learn how to adjust

Try to encourage your team to have different mindset. The best thing in Softball there is no clear advantage with one team. Because you never know when one team suddenly starts hitting well and steps up on defense.

Dont get discouraged. Talk to you teammates and focus on the upcoming game.

This is a quote I love "Dont be afraid of failure, be afraid of misopportunity" Meaning, dont be afraid of swinging at strikes and maybe missing. Its better to go down swinging and trying, rather than going down looking being afraid of doing something wrong. Just go for it and see what happens

If you are worried about the pitchers speed, then choke up and back up in the box, UNLESS, if she has last minute movement. And if it is two strikes, just foul them off, until she throws a hanger, then KRUSH IT!!!!! KILL IT!!!!!

Do a ton of practice batting against a pitching machine and basicly do what everyone else said. Back up in the batter box, choke up, and take the first strike. The reason to take the first strike is to see exactly how fast and where she likes to pitch. Once you have 1 strike, swing at anything close. Don't let yourself get two strikes. If it turns out that she really isn't that great, hit the ball far and hard! If she soesn't throw a lot of strikes just take the walk. Hope this helps!
