Hello Amanda, I just helped put together a 14U and a 10U travel team in Clarkburg, Maryland. We went to the local high school games and recruited players by offering a place to play during the summer and fall. We also visited local batting cages and baseball/softball training centers, where you can also handout, lay out or post flyers. And lastly check out your local rec leagues and talk to parents at the games, most are not even aware of the travel team option.

If its not too late, go to your local rec league All Stars Tournament or the equivalent. Good opportunity to see the girls in action and many are ready to take the next step. Don't settle for worm bodies. If you aren't drawing the talent to play the level you are planing, wait a season and try again. Good luck!

Try outs...Let the locals know there is a team and post try outs in the local papers. Every one wants to prove themselves if they are any good and it lets them know its not just a run of the mill team, they actually had to prove themselves to play.
