Jasamine,
It sounds like you may be in a bit over your head. Most 8th grade boys already have a pretty sound understanding and mastery of basic basketball skills. If you, as the coach, don't, you're asking for trouble. Seek assistance from your parents, the local high school players, and books. There are many good books on basketball fundamentals.
Good Luck! -
Sounds like you know more about the game than you led us on to believe. As long as you stay a practice ahead of the boys you'll likely be okay. Try to teach something new at each practice, and review what you covered at the previous one. Keep them very busy..no standing around and don't talk too much.

YOU START THEM OFF WITH JUNIOR VARSITY HIGH SCHOOL DRILLS---- FIGURE 8, LAY-UP DRILLS, JUST SUM OF THE BASIC DRILLS BUT AS THE SEASON ARRIVES YOU GET MORE COMPLEX BY ADDING IN PLAYS....THERE ARE SOME DRILLS ON HERE THAT ARE GOOD FOR THE BOYS
