Question
Are there sample forms out there where parents can give feedback to the coaches
Our parents have very little voice and feel very frustrated. We are having our first parent run meeting and I'd like to provide evaluation forms for the parents

Hi Lori. I took a quick look around and found the two forms below you could adapt for Cheer. I think the key is how you deliver the feedback. Has to be constructive and sincere. I'd be interested if other coaches out there have had parents come to them and could share their thoughts. In the meantime...here's the links:

Thank you and very helpful

As a coach sometimes i get too much parent feedback. Sometimes I want to just be left alone to work with the girls. But, if the coaches are staying in communication with the parents, they shouldn't need a special form. there is such a thing as too much paperwork.

Wanted to let you know about a youth sports parent survey tool that could help both of you....
D: It's a way for parents to provide constructive, anonymous feedback to coaches/administrators.
Jody: It centralizes feedback from parents, covers 6 key evaluation topics, provides action plans, and more (plus, it's free, and easy to use). The tool is from Responsible Sports, a website championing and celebrating responsibility in youth sports by supporting coaches and youth sport parents. Our latest program, Season Evaluation, is a free, online parent survey tool designed by the youth sports experts at Positive Coaching Alliance. It allows leagues and teams to solicit feedback from parents on their child's youth sports experience to gain valuable insights into parents overall satisfaction and identify areas to be celebrated as well as areas of improvement.
Learn more about the survey tool at http://www.ResponsibleSports.com/Survey.
Let me know if you have any feedback, questions or comments!

All you need to do is be approachable. Develop a friendship with the parents. Let them know that their child & their input are both important to you. If parents are your friends, they are a lot less likely to be critical. They will also be much more understanding about their child's playing time if you explain your views & confidence in their child's improvement & desire. I have always found it easier to talk to a friend than an adversary. It is a balancing act that all coaches must perform. Instill confidence in the parents, & maintain control of your team.
