    1. The coach just wants to be fair and teach you a lesson. Don't quit. He wants to be fair to the girls that are always at practice even if they are worse then you because alot of parents complain

Your coach should have set some rules in place prior to your commitment to the team. Missing practice could be reason for being benched. Quiting is not the answer, talk to your coach and ask him/her why you sat.

Most coaches put some players on the bench for missing a practice. You shouldnt quit on your team. If you miss a practice, you sort of actually deserve to sit the bench. I have played for 12 seasons and i am on my 13th and i have never missed a single practice. If you be at practice you will not be benched{most likely]. If you miss a practice you will most likely be benches. Make a choice next practice.

Sierra, I hope your seeing a pattern here. Never quit, You made a mistake, it happens. Face it, accept the consequences and don't let it happen again. This isn't just advice for this incident, but for any type of adversity you may come to face. Analyze where the mistakes were made, correct them and move forward. Quitting, even to join another team moves you sideways and backwards. Move Forward.

    Sierra,
As a coach, I look at playing in competitions as a reward for practicing. It may not be so much about discipline as it is a reward. Also, I try to introduce a new tactic or skill in every practice, and if a girl is absent from the practice immediately prior to a competition, she may not know what to do. Also, the team that you play for won't matter, most coaches would likely have played someone else also. Stick it out with your current team and be supportive of the other players who were at practice.

I agree with Jack Houston, you earn your playing time, playing in games are a reward for your hard work at practice, if your not gonna show up for practice then why should you get to play? For the girls that do show up its not far to them, think about it. You need to go to practice and support your team, and do not quit, that would be dumb, you have made a commitment to your team and dont just quite over one time you didnt get to play.

NO!! Trust me i had my appendix removed and my couch didn't play me at a state tourny even though i had a doc. okay and it had been 2 weeks. He never played me like he did before after that. I stayed on team and had a great time with the game and my teammates. Stick with it, don't quit after one little thing.

NO!!!!!! Your coach put you on the bench beacuse you missed practice and it no be far to the other girls if you got to play and you missed practice. That happened to me last year when this girl came to one practice and she played the whole tortement and i sat and i came to every practice!

no you should not quit or leave....... your coach just probibaly thinks that the people that come to practice deserve more to play than people that dont come to practice because people that come to practice try harder than people that dont. not that i am saying u dont try but you cant try if you are not at practice. so dont quit just keep on trying and go to every practice you can ; )
