Second place is not bad, your dad can look at the the skills&drills section of weplay or just ask spefically where he needs help. Is it your defense , your pitching or lack of offense that did not allow your team to come in first place?
A lot of the time with 10 and up players they try to start copying pro bal players so I would suggest getting them to watch players like Albert P. with the Card's, I may not like the man but he has got to be the best batter around. I don't like him because he beats the heck out of the Astros. Or you can have your dad go back to the basics with the players. Sometimes it helps to remind your players about the basics of hitting and fielding. The skills & drills section is very good place to start. Also please remember that players go through spells of being hot and cold so mix it up a little, meaning the batting order even posistions. Hope this helps
What is the team doing that needs to be worked on? Is it fielding, batting or pitching? Determine what needs to be worked on and pick the drill/drills accordingly. The little things make the difference!
I would also seriously recommend a new hitting trainer that really works. It is called the Insider Bat. Tons of recommendations from numerous major league players and coaches. I have one and really like it for my seven and ten year old. Check this web page out for more detailed info and ordering: http://www.my-youth-baseball.com/insider-bat.html
