Interested in becoming a youth football coach

Hello my name is Luis I am interested in becoming a youth football coach but literally have no idea where to begin and although I do not have any experience in coaching and did not play in college, I am a big fan of the game and what it can do for our youth. If you could maybe help me out on how to get the ball rolling or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated my email address is Wichodominguez5@aol.com thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

I would advise joining, they have a certificate program that will help get you going. It's a lot too coaching, but with the drills and fundamentals they teach, you should have no problem fitting in on someone's coaching staff. I would sugest you work as an assistant first, to learn the various parents and players you will encounter. X's and O's do not mean as much as how your parents and players feel about thier football exspierence.

    1. Thanks, I have been to this website but thought that I needed to be a coach already to sign up, they ask for what team or organization I am affiliated with I will definitely sign up then.

    2. Check out your local park district for football programs and start going to their meetings. you can get all of the info for your local leagues on this site. www.americanyouthfootball.com. Most leagues will have coaches looking for assistants.

USA football to start - you can go on the cheap and pay less than $25.00 to get tackle or flag certified or pay $25 for the full membership. Also, NFF, National Football Foundation offers clinics around the country.
