First of all - Congratulations! Cheerleading requires teamwork so find what you are good at and become your squads "go to" person for that. Then you can also get the good tumblers to help you but be careful. It takes an experienced spotter and the right equipment to be sure you dont get hurt when learning to tumble.

You could also take some tumbling classes. Look for a gymnastics gym or an all star gym in your area that offer tumbling classes. My girls both learned back handsprings in less than a year taking tumbling classes. You also need to be ready to work hard. I've noticed that the cheerleaders who want the tumbling more tend to get it faster.

I second the idea of taking classes at a gymnastics center or all-star gym. It's the only safe way to learn tumbling. You can work on non-flipping drills at home though, like bridge rocks and handstands, and you can do conditioning like push ups, ab crunch variations, and squat jumps. The more you work on those at home, the faster you will get your skills at your classes.
Google beginner cheerleading tumbling to get some more ideas.

you should practice A LOT. one of my friends made the high school squad and she couldnt do a cartwheel either. if you arent the greatest at tumbling, you just have to be a lot btter than everyone else at the cheering ang and be loud. you can also take classes at a local gym. thats what i did and now my toe touches go really high. also i got my round off perfected and i can do a front handspring. all it takes is practice!! :)
