If you don't feel the nerves, you are not trying. Fear is good, it means you have put your self in a position excel. Instead of letting the nerves cause you to fail, embrace your fear, enjoy it, fear will keep you sharp, keep you thinking and above all let you know how much what you are doing means to you.

I was nervous when i tried out for the high school squad as well. But i realized, there isn't any point to being nervous! Just do your best, with lots of smiles, loud cheers, and plenty of bubbly actions, and you will do great! Dont forget that there is always next year as well. Good luck!

I think everyone is nervous about trying out. Remember cheerleading is 50% or more about attitude. I've never been a big believer in the "fake until you make it" philosophy but it might help you get through tryouts. Pretend you are playing a cheerleader in a movie and give it your all. It can help with nerves until your get more confident. GOOD LUCK - let us know how you do!
