To tell you the truth, I would not go out and spend $200 on a bat for a 8 year old. Wait until she is older and you know that she is into softball before making such a big investment.

The Miken Halo is the better choice. It has an outer wall and is composite. You can hit with power.

Im 9 and on a travel team. Composite bats are expensive and she will out grow quick. But if she is happy and she picks that bat up and swings it 2-3 times more per week because she is excited about the bat it is worth it. Halo is sweet and light. Anderson has heavy end makes me swing slower but it travels. She would like Halo. I would. I have a Easton 30 - 11.5

At that age the bat makes no difference,I would suggest a reasonable price bat and get a hitting instructor.

Both bats are great, but at that age it's all about mechanics not the bat!! Save your money. If just can't help your self get some hitting lessons.

Buy a used low cost bat for 8U ball. She will grow out of it quick

At this age we are having success with the Worth Storm bat. Light, well weighted and about $60.

Buy a lower cost aluminum or alloy bat. I am not sure if this child is a first or second year 8u player but it is a young age if you would like to spend money on a bat... make sure your kid is interested in playing the sport and isn't just playing to find out if they like it or not. I am in 12u Travel Ball and personally used a aluminum bat in 8u there is no need for composites, im not sure what ball your league uses but if it is a sof dot it will fly better with aluminum or alloy.

Just make sure the bat is not to big or heavy for her. It makes a huge difference.
