Question
I am new to this so I really am unsure about how this works as far as what sport is happening in what season. I am also unfamiliar with prices and schedules.

i would go for soccer. track would be too much running for his age and football? hes probably too young, soccer is perfect, maybe even
t ball -
I think registration for T-Ball is probably over. Fall soccer sign ups are around April-June. Spring soccer might have openings. Indoor soccer is a good choice right now if you have a facility near by.

I agree with Kelcy. Soccer is appropriate for a four year old.

Ashley, go to this site and you find all the info you need or a contact # for soccer in Richmond.
http://www.ffps.org/Welcome.aspxPrices for younger players usually run from 60 to 115 per season. Hope this helps

I'd put him in whatever sport comes up next. At his age, it's most important to just expose him to as many different sports (as well as other activities) as possible to see which ones (if any) he likes.
I first put my son in sports at age 3 so he burn up all his restless energy and keep him from watching TV all day. He started at the YMCA with basketball and baseball. To our surprise, he was a pretty good athlete, so after about 2 years, we moved him to the more challenging community sports leagues. Now, at almost age 8, he plays sports year round--football, basketball, baseball, track and field or soccer. (He's also on the chess team and a straight-A 2nd/3rd grade student.) Now, this is HIS choice, NOT mine. Each season, I let him choose IF he wants to play a sport and which one(s). I really wish he didn't play so many because I usually end up having to coach most of them. He's been asked to join the swim team. And he's even interested in playing individual sports like tennis and golf, which I'll expose him to when he's out of school this summer.
At age 4, your son probably can play baseball, soccer, and track and field right now. I'd first try him in the community youth sports leagues because they will teach (and challenge) him more than the YMCA. Here are the associations I'd consider: baseball (PONY or Little League); soccer (US Youth Soccer Association-affiliated club or Fun Fair Positive Soccer); track and field (USA Track & Field-affiliated club).
Again, the important thing is to just expose him. He may or may not like them. He may hate one now, but love it later. Because my son was being lazy in other sports, I made him run track 2 years ago, and he absolutely hated it. Last year, he decided to try soccer instead, which he didn't like as much as he thought. To my surprise, this year he said he really wants to run track again! Go figure! :-)

i would say football cause thats what i prefer but i would deffenetely not say track
-
4 is way to young for football you have to be 7 or 8
-
i would say soccer because i've been playing soccer since i was 3, so he could play it at age 4

Well... I dont think track is for a four year old. He probably wouldnt have as much fun as he would in baseball or soccer. When I was five I was in soccer and I had fun. I enjoyed being with the other people on my team. It is good to start exposing him to teams and team work for he will have more friends on his team (of whichever sport you pick). it will make him happier. Hope this helps!

Where do you usually buy sports gear for your kids? Online or at the store?
-
I get them both places. I buy certain things certain places, depending on the best price I can find. I buy stuff online at various places depending on what I'm looking for. I also buy stuff from general sporting goods stores like Academy Sports & Outdoors. I also buy stuff from local specialty sports stores like Barcelona, Budget Sporting Goods. Something you looking for in particular?
