UNLESS THE IS A COMPETITIVE CHEERLEADING YOUR COACH SHOULD NOT BE TALKING TO YOU LIKE THAT. AS A COACH WE SHOULD HAVE TACT IN DEALING WITH THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS.. AS FAR AS THE PROBLEM I WOULD HOPE THAT THE COACH WOULD HAVE THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER CHEERLEADERS IN MIND.. I THINK THE COACH SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID IT LIKE THAT. BUT YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THE SOMETIMES IN ORDER TO DO SOMETHING WE WANT TO DO, WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING WE DONT WANNA DO.. HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE..

One of the first things you have to do when a coach says something like that is to ask for clarification. Find out why he feels you need to lose weight. If his points are valid for the teams success and you feel that he is not attacking you directly then you need to make a choice on whether to leave the squad or try and slim down to an acceptable weight. Remember if you choice to lose weight ask for guidance and help to do this in a healthy manner. The main thing again is to ask why.

I am a competitive coach and I have never in thirteen years of coaching told a child in gymnastics or cheerleading that she was too fat. I would first see if that is what your coach said or if you missed interpreted it. If it is what was said you need to have a conversation with your parent to see if that team is the right place for you to be.

A coaches job is to lead and mentor. NOT to be rude and mean. I am soooo very sorry to hear that ANY one would speak to you that way. You have the right to remind him that he needs to be specific concerning your position and maybe find another one for you. That his is a leader.

youre coach shouldnt call you fat or anything else negative. A coach is there to believe in you and help you get better, not call you fat and kick you out of youre position. i also doubt youre fat. no cheerleaders that Iv'e met our THAT fat. I think you should quit that squad and maybe join a different one.
