I would say ..above all in our hose..sports have given my kids a greater understanding ov howhard work pays off... when they practice hard its easier at game time...and when they slacked at practice it got harder at game time...I make it a point as a dad and a coach to drive home that fudamental to all my kids... hard work is ALWAYS rewarded....be it with a healthy body...a great game...or aan awesome test score...if you put in the work you will reap the reward...AESOME question Candice!!!

In the last five years being involved with youth sports, I have noticed the difference in academics, attitude, physical awareness and emotional wellbeing. Having two daughters of my own, the oldest now seventeen did not wish to compete in sports as much and was more to herself. Whereas my youngest now soon to be thirteen is more aware and has more points of strength with the listing above.
My Wife and I have raised them equally within moral and life growth... equally. But there is a strong difference between the two. I feel that Sports and the world around the sports venue has contributed to this difference significantly. Just as we were coming to the end of the Fall Season we were having our "Team Award / End of Season Party" and throughout the session I had found out that 85%+ had just made straight A's and most were on Honor Roll. This blew me away, for even though I stress academics as part of our Team Code of Conduct throughout the season, I would have never thought that this was possible as a TEAM. At least not on the Seventh grade level. But to my surprise, it did.
So there's a nice Kudos to TEAM Building and the positives, when stressed in the proper amounts, to Sports over all. At least in my book
